Mathematical Sciences Research Collaboratory
About
The Mathematical Sciences Research Collaboratory (MSRC) at the University of Connecticut was established in 2023 to foster interdisciplinary and external collaborations across fields where mathematical expertise is integral. The MSRC Fund aims to support pioneering research within core mathematical disciplines as well as projects that bridge multiple fields. Funding is available for hosting research collaborators, facilitating faculty research visits, and organizing scholarly workshops and conferences.
Call for Applications
The MSRC is currently seeking applications to support projects in any of the following three areas:
Special Semesters
A series of colloquium talks held during the fall semester and centered on a common area of mathematics. Each Special Semester brings experts to UConn to give a thematically connected series of talks aimed at a broad mathematical audience.
Workshops
Single- and multi-day events held at UConn that foster research collaboration and the exchange of ideas. Participants may come from UConn or other institutions, and workshops may focus on any area of mathematics, including mathematics education.
Collaborative Visit
Visits to UConn by researchers from other institutions to engage in focused research collaboration with UConn faculty and students. Each project may support multiple visitors, with specific numbers and visit durations depending on the scope of the collaboration and available resources.
The MSRC Fund welcomes proposals from all UConn faculty members, provided there is a clear collaborative effort with the Department of Mathematics. Graduate students are also encouraged to apply.
